Life Without Barriers is dedicated to building a world where every child and young person has the opportunity to thrive. We are seeking compassionate and highly organized individuals to join our team as Senior Rostering Officers, specifically for our after-hours service. This vital role ensures seamless support and care delivery outside of standard business hours, directly impacting the well-being of the children and young people we serve.

Job Overview

As a Senior Rostering Officer, you will be at the forefront of managing and coordinating complex rosters for our dedicated care teams, operating exclusively during after-hours periods. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring adequate and appropriate staffing levels to meet the diverse needs of the children and young people in our care, 24/7. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional communication skills, and a deep commitment to our mission of creating safe and supportive environments. You will play an integral part in the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our critical out-of-hours services, contributing directly to positive outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, implement, and manage intricate rosters for after-hours care teams, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, service agreements, and relevant legislation.
* Proactively identify and resolve staffing gaps and scheduling conflicts in real-time, particularly during urgent or unforeseen circumstances that arise outside of business hours.
* Communicate effectively and efficiently with care staff, team leaders, and management regarding roster changes, availability, and operational needs.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic rostering systems, ensuring all data is precise and accessible for reporting and operational decision-making.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of rostering processes by identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.
* Provide guidance and support to junior rostering staff or other team members as required, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
* Participate in after-hours on-call duties as part of a roster to manage immediate and critical rostering needs as they arise.
* Liaise with external stakeholders or agencies where necessary to facilitate coordinated care and staffing solutions during after-hours periods.

Requirements

* Demonstrated experience in complex rostering, preferably within the human services, healthcare, or not-for-profit sectors.
* Proven ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions under pressure, particularly during after-hours operational challenges.
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of rostering.
* Strong proficiency in using rostering software and other relevant technological tools.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
* A commitment to child-focused practice and an understanding of the unique needs of children and young people in out-of-home care.
* Availability and willingness to participate in an after-hours on-call roster.

What We Offer

* The opportunity to make a profound and lasting impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
* A supportive and collaborative work environment that values your contributions and professional development.
* The flexibility to work remotely, allowing for a better work-life balance.
* Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and career progression within Life Without Barriers.
* The chance to be part of a values-driven organization committed to creating positive social change.
