Job Overview

The Cash Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate and secure management of all financial transactions at our fuel station. This position is responsible for handling cash, processing payments, and maintaining meticulous records to support financial reporting and reconciliation. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual with a strong commitment to integrity and precision in financial operations, contributing directly to the smooth day-to-day running of our service.

Key Responsibilities

* Accurately receive, count, and record all cash and electronic payments from customers at the fuel station.
* Process various payment types, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments, ensuring all transactions are correctly entered into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
* Perform daily cash reconciliations, comparing the physical cash on hand with the recorded transactions and investigating any discrepancies.
* Prepare daily deposit slips and ensure the secure transfer of funds to the designated bank.
* Maintain a clean and organized cash drawer and workstation, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
* Generate end-of-day reports detailing all sales, cash receipts, and any other relevant financial data.
* Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required, ensuring accuracy in stock-related financial records.
* Respond to customer inquiries regarding payments and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate in accounting or finance is a plus.
* Proven experience in handling cash and processing financial transactions, preferably in a retail or service environment.
* Proficiency in using POS systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word).
* Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in numerical tasks.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Excellent integrity and trustworthiness, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
