Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Operations Manager to join our team at LEAM Consulting. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient and effective management of all aspects of farm activities. This will include managing crop production, livestock care, and equipment maintenance, as well as supervising a team of farm workers. The ideal candidate will have a strong agricultural background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement effective farm operations strategies to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency
* Oversee crop production, including planting, harvesting, and crop maintenance, to ensure optimal yields and quality
* Manage livestock care, including feeding, breeding, and health management, to ensure the well-being and productivity of our animals
* Supervise and train a team of farm workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively
* Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring that all farm equipment is in good working order and available for use when needed
* Monitor and manage farm finances, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure the financial sustainability of the farm
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that the farm is well-integrated into the local agricultural community
* Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions as required

Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, or a related field
* Minimum 5 years of experience in farm management or a related field, with a proven track record of success
* Strong knowledge of agricultural practices, including crop production, livestock care, and equipment maintenance
* Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of farm workers
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and productivity
* Familiarity with farm management software and technology, including accounting and record-keeping systems
