Job Overview
As a Content and Social Media Specialist at ALX Africa, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive content strategy that showcases our brand, programmes, and success stories. You will leverage your expertise in social media marketing to create engaging content, grow our online presence, and build a community of like-minded individuals who share our vision for a digitally empowered Africa. With a focus on innovation, creativity, and collaboration, you will work closely with our team to ensure that our content and social media efforts align with our overall mission and objectives. Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that showcases our brand, programmes, and success stories across various social media platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
* Create engaging, informative, and high-quality content, including blog posts, videos, infographics, and social media posts, that resonate with our target audience and reflect our brand’s tone and voice.
* Manage and maintain our social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, responding to comments and messages, and monitoring engagement metrics to optimize our content strategy.
* Collaborate with our team to develop and implement social media campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and conversions, and align with our overall marketing and communications strategy.
* Conduct social media analytics and reporting to track our performance, identify areas for improvement, and inform our content and social media strategy.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and platform updates in social media marketing, and apply this knowledge to continuously improve our content and social media efforts.
* Develop and maintain relationships with influencers, partners, and other stakeholders to amplify our message and expand our reach.
* Provide content and social media support for events, webinars, and other marketing initiatives, including creating promotional materials, drafting social media posts, and live-tweeting during events.
Requirements
* A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field, with a strong focus on social media marketing and content creation.
* At least 3 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective content and social media strategies.
* Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging, informative, and high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences.
* Strong understanding of social media platforms, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, and the ability to leverage these platforms to achieve our marketing and communications goals.
* Experience with social media analytics and reporting tools, including Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or similar platforms.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
