Null is building a next generation DeFi primitive focused on permissionless leverage across any asset. As part of this mission, the team is hiring a PhD Research Assistant to help define the research, documentation, and written foundation of the protocol.
This role is ideal for a current PhD student with strong analytical thinking, technical writing skills, and a deep interest in Web3 and decentralized finance. You will work closely with a research driven, VC backed team operating at the frontier of DeFi innovation.
About the Role
The PhD Research Assistant at Null will contribute to the intellectual backbone of the protocol by producing high quality research outputs and clear technical documentation. You will help transform complex engineering ideas into structured, accessible materials that support protocol development and external understanding.
This is a flexible, part time, and fully remote position designed to fit alongside doctoral research.
Key Responsibilities
• Write and maintain protocol whitepapers and research documents
• Develop clear and well structured technical documentation
• Translate complex engineering and cryptoeconomic concepts into accessible writing
• Conduct literature reviews and independent research
• Synthesize academic and industry research into actionable insights
• Support the long term research direction of the protocol
Candidate Profile
To succeed as a PhD Research Assistant at Null, candidates should meet the following criteria:
• Currently enrolled in a PhD programme
• Strong research background with excellent technical writing skills
• Proficiency in LaTeX and academic style documentation
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical systems
