Logos is a movement and technology stack designed to support the development of a freer, decentralized web. Our protocols empower users while upholding civil liberties and fundamental freedoms, laying the foundation for communities to evolve into network states. Logos revitalizes civil society by combining decentralised technology with social impact.

The Job

You will design and implement liblogos, a modular plugin runtime for decentralised nodes. Your role will focus on optimizing inter-process communication (IPC), strengthening module isolation, ensuring fault tolerance, improving scalability, and maintaining secure module boundaries. You will also collaborate with teams to build and test core modules, including blockchain, messaging, and storage modules.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement liblogos, a modular plugin-based runtime for decentralized nodes and applications.
  • Optimize IPC performance for efficient communication between modules.
  • Improve isolation, fault tolerance, independent scalability, and secure boundaries to prevent cross-module vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with component teams to build and test modules such as decentralized nodes, blockchain, messaging, and storage.

Ideal Candidate

  • Proficiency in systems programming languages: C, C++, Rust, Nim.
  • Experience with plugin architectures, dynamic loading, and package managers for modular runtime systems.
  • Strong understanding of microkernel principles: minimal core, service isolation, fault tolerance, and extensibility without core modifications.
  • Knowledge of Linux namespaces, cgroups, containerization, and user-space microkernel-style separation.
  • Experience with IPC optimization and low-level performance tuning in multi-process environments.
  • Experience with network programming.

Bonus Points

  • Experience working for an open-source organization.
  • Knowledge of type theory and programming language foundations.
  • Experience with peer-to-peer technologies, blockchain, or cryptography.

Hiring Process

  1. Intro call with the POps team
  2. One or two technical interviews
  3. Home assignment
  4. Final interview with a co-founder

Compensation

We offer flexible payment in any mix of fiat and cryptocurrency.

This is an opportunity to be part of a pioneering project that empowers decentralized communities while working at the cutting edge of systems programming and blockchain technology.
