Job Overview
As Principal DevOps Engineer, you will architect and lead the design of scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure supporting NBCUniversal's content delivery and media platforms. This role offers the opportunity to shape DevOps strategy, mentor engineering teams, and drive innovation in containerization, infrastructure-as-code, and automation practices at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices across multiple teams
- Lead cloud architecture initiatives on AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms
- Establish infrastructure-as-code standards and Kubernetes orchestration strategies
- Mentor and guide DevOps engineers and platform teams
- Drive monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for complex distributed systems
- Collaborate with security teams to implement infrastructure security best practices
- Optimize costs and performance of cloud infrastructure deployments
Requirements
- 10+ years of DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure experience
- Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
- Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Advanced experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring technical teams
- Expert-level scripting skills (Python, Go, Bash, or similar)
- Security and compliance knowledge (encryption, IAM, network security)
