Job Overview

The Video Editor will be responsible for transforming raw footage into polished visual content that aligns with the company’s creative vision and brand identity. The position involves collaborating with the production team from the early stages of editing through to final delivery while maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities of the Video Editor Job in Abuja

Storytelling and Video Editing

• Edit and assemble recorded footage to create seamless and engaging visual stories
• Ensure editing transitions remain natural so viewers stay immersed in the narrative
• Review scripts and raw footage to determine the best shots for continuity and storytelling
• Develop projects from rough cuts to final polished versions

Audio and Visual Enhancement

• Synchronize music, dialogue, sound effects, and graphics with video footage
• Perform color correction and visual adjustments to enhance video quality
• Apply visual effects and graphics where required

Collaboration and Creative Direction

• Interpret creative briefs provided by the production team
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure projects meet creative goals
• Support the production process by aligning editing decisions with the overall project vision

Multi Platform Content Production

• Prepare video content for various digital platforms including company websites and social media channels
• Produce optimized content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube

Quality Control and File Management

• Review final video outputs to ensure there are no technical or creative errors
• Maintain consistent brand identity across all visual productions
• Organize project files, raw footage, and archived materials for future access

Technical Development

• Stay updated on modern editing technologies and industry best practices

Requirements

To qualify for the Video Editor Job in Abuja, candidates should meet the following criteria.

Educational Qualification

Applicants may possess any of the following qualifications:

• Secondary School Certificate Examination
• OND or NCE
• Other relevant professional or vocational training

Experience

• 2 to 6 years of professional experience in video editing

Skills and Technical Competencies

• Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling and continuity editing
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro
• Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and title creation
• Experience with audio editing tools such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or Logic Pro
• Ability to analyze scripts and footage to determine effective visual sequences
• Knowledge of color grading tools such as DaVinci Resolve
• Understanding of video compression standards and export formats for different platforms
• Background knowledge in filming or cinematography is an advantage

Salary

• Monthly salary ranges from ₦200,000 to ₦300,000 depending on experience and skill level.
