Job Overview
The Communications and Programmes Intern will support the UNDP Malaysia team in executing strategic communication plans and assisting in the implementation of various development programmes. This position is instrumental in amplifying the reach and impact of UNDP’s work in Malaysia, fostering stronger stakeholder engagement, and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing and disseminating engaging communication materials (e.g., social media content, press releases, reports).
Support the planning and execution of programme-related events and activities.
Conduct research and gather information to inform programme development and communication strategies.
Provide administrative support for programme and communication activities.
Monitor and analyze media coverage and stakeholder feedback.
Contribute to the maintenance of programme databases and communication channels.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme in Communications, International Relations, Development Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
A keen interest in sustainable development and the work of the UN.
