Job Overview
The Nurse will be instrumental in delivering high-quality direct patient care, health education, and support within MDM’s operational areas in Maiduguri. This role requires a commitment to ethical medical practice and a passion for serving communities in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct health screenings, vaccinations, and preventative care initiatives.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
- Participate in health surveillance and outbreak investigation as needed.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse qualification from an accredited institution.
- Valid professional license to practice nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts is an asset.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Hausa, Kanuri) is advantageous.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
