PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, a leading consumer goods company in Nigeria and part of the global PZ Cussons Group, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Tax Manager to join our finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring our compliance with all tax regulations and optimising our tax strategy within the Nigerian operating landscape.

Job Overview

The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of taxation for PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc. This includes managing tax compliance, planning, advisory services, and representing the company in tax-related matters with regulatory authorities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and demonstrate exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure timely and accurate filing of all statutory tax returns (corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, etc.).
  • Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, assessing their impact on the company.
  • Liaise with tax authorities on assessments, audits, and other inquiries.
  • Develop and implement tax policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Oversee transfer pricing documentation and compliance.
  • Manage external tax advisors and consultants as required.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, CITN).
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, preferably within a multinational FMCG environment in Nigeria.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
