Job Overview

The Sr. Security Researcher II will be instrumental in identifying, analyzing, and understanding emerging threats and sophisticated adversaries. You will conduct in-depth research, develop novel detection techniques, and contribute to the proactive defense of our customers against a wide range of cyberattacks. This remote position offers the opportunity to work with a world-class team on challenging and impactful security problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research on advanced persistent threats (APTs), malware, and new attack methodologies.
• Develop and implement innovative detection and prevention strategies.
• Analyze threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to build robust defenses.
• Reverse engineer complex malware and exploit code.
• Author high-quality technical reports, blog posts, and threat intelligence briefings.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate research findings into CrowdStrike’s platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in security research, malware analysis, or threat intelligence.
• Deep understanding of operating system internals (Windows, Linux, macOS) and network protocols.
• Proficiency in reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, etc.) and assembly languages.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
