An exciting opportunity has opened for a creative and culturally connected individual to join Gents Standard, a distinguished men’s traditional fashion brand based in Lagos. We are looking for a talented Social Media Manager to build and grow our digital presence across multiple platforms. This hybrid position requires two days on-site per week at our Maryland, Lagos location for strategy sessions, reporting, and content shoots, with the remaining days worked remotely. The salary range for this part-time role is ₦50,000 to ₦100,000 per month.

Gents Standard specializes in senator styles, agbada, and native wear that celebrate Nigerian heritage and craftsmanship. As our Social Media Manager, you will play a vital role in connecting our brand with fashion-conscious audiences who appreciate quality traditional attire. Your creativity and understanding of Lagos culture will help shape how we engage with customers online.

Key Responsibilities for the Social Media Manager

The ideal candidate will take ownership of our social media presence, creating content that resonates with our target audience and drives real business results. Your daily activities will include content creation, community management, and strategic planning.

  • Create and publish engaging content across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, and WhatsApp, maintaining a minimum of five posts per week.
  • Shoot and edit short-form video content including Reels and TikTok videos featuring styling ideas, product showcases, and fabric walkthroughs.
  • Write compelling captions that speak directly to the Lagos traditional fashion audience, reflecting cultural nuances and current trends.
  • Manage all direct messages and comments promptly, turning inquiries into actual sales conversations.
  • Repurpose existing editorial content such as senator styling guides and tribal attire articles into fresh social media formats.
  • Maintain a content calendar planned at least two weeks in advance, with a focus on Nigerian cultural occasions including wedding season, Sallah celebrations, owambe events, and the busy December period.
  • Submit a weekly performance report every Monday, tracking key metrics and insights to inform future strategy.

Who We Are Looking For

This Social Media Manager role requires a unique blend of creativity, cultural awareness, and practical skills. We are seeking someone who genuinely understands and appreciates Nigerian men’s fashion.

  • Someone who genuinely loves Nigerian men’s fashion and has a deep understanding of Lagos culture and style preferences.
  • Ability to shoot and edit high-quality short-form video content using nothing more than a smartphone.
  • Strong caption writing skills in English with cultural fluency that resonates with our audience.
  • Responsive approach to managing DMs, with the ability to convert conversations into customers.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, capable of working consistently without daily supervision.
  • Minimum of one to two years of experience managing social media, with a portfolio of content you personally created.
