Job Overview

Hopper is seeking a highly experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our dynamic, remote-first team. This pivotal role will see you taking ownership of critical security initiatives, from threat modeling and vulnerability management to incident response and security architecture. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to embed security best practices throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to the continuous improvement of our security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust security strategies and roadmaps.
  • Lead threat modeling exercises and vulnerability assessments across all platforms.
  • Design, build, and maintain security tooling and infrastructure.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents, coordinating remediation efforts.
  • Advise and mentor engineering teams on secure coding practices and principles.
  • Manage and enhance our cloud security posture.
  • Contribute to security awareness training and documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Security Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Expertise in security best practices, including threat modeling, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go) and security automation.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, cryptography, and authentication protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
