Job Overview
The Sales Representative will be responsible for attending to showroom customers, recommending suitable products, and closing sales. The role also involves managing client relationships, monitoring stock levels, and preparing sales reports.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service and Sales
- Attend to showroom walk-in clients and provide professional product consultation
- Recommend suitable products based on customer needs and close sales
- Follow up on customer inquiries, quotations, and payments
Lead Generation and Sales Growth
- Meet assigned sales targets
- Generate new leads through referrals and field visits
- Build relationships with contractors, architects, and corporate clients
Reporting and Record Keeping
- Prepare and submit regular sales and stock reports
- Maintain accurate sales records and documentation
Inventory and Showroom Management
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the inventory or store team
- Ensure the showroom is well organized and products are properly displayed
Customer Relationship Management
- Handle customer complaints professionally
- Maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients
Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Marketing
- Business Administration
- Or a related field
Experience
- 2 – 3 years experience in retail sales or showroom sales
- Experience in the building materials industry is an added advantage
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to meet sales targets
- Basic knowledge of stock management
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Basic knowledge of CRM systems
- Ability to analyze sales figures, market trends, and competitor activity
- Good report writing and record-keeping ability
