Job Description
PRIMERO Transport Services Limited, a pioneering public transport provider in Lagos, Nigeria, established on November 12, 2015, is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to uphold the highest standards of safety across our operations. Launched by His Excellency Mr. Akinwumi ‘Dapo Ambode, we are committed to ensuring the well-being of our passengers and staff on our extensive BRT lane network.
Job Overview
The Safety Officer will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations within our transport network, encompassing routes from Ikorodu to Mile12 and major terminals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of buses, terminals, and operational areas.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for drivers, operational staff, and management.
- Ensure adherence to occupational health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Maintain safety records and prepare regular safety performance reports.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer, preferably within the transport or logistics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
