Job Overview

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of solid minerals and agricultural products. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of market dynamics, and the ability to build and maintain robust supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and source reliable suppliers for solid minerals and agricultural products.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contract conditions with suppliers.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
• Monitor market trends and commodity prices to ensure competitive purchasing.
• Prepare purchase orders, track deliveries, and manage inventory levels.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand procurement needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar procurement role.
• Knowledge of the Nigerian solid minerals and agricultural sectors is highly desirable.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in relevant procurement software and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
