Job Summary

The Operations Manager involves supervising daily operations at the company’s Lagos hub. The role focuses on managing teams, coordinating parcel movement, monitoring performance indicators, and ensuring smooth inbound and outbound shipment flow.

The ideal candidate will have solid logistics experience and the ability to lead teams effectively while ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Hub Operations Management

• Oversee daily activities at the Lagos hub including parcel sorting, shipment processing, and dispatch operations
• Coordinate last mile delivery operations to ensure timely delivery of shipments
• Monitor shipment flow to ensure smooth inbound and outbound logistics operations

Team Leadership and Staff Management

• Manage hub personnel including supervisors, warehouse staff, riders, and dispatch officers
• Provide guidance, supervision, and performance monitoring for operational teams
• Ensure staff follow operational procedures and safety standards

Performance Monitoring and Operational Efficiency

• Track key performance indicators such as delivery success rate, turnaround time, productivity, and cost efficiency
• Prepare operational performance reports and dashboards for senior management
• Identify improvement opportunities to enhance service quality and operational performance

Logistics Coordination and Problem Resolution

• Coordinate linehaul arrivals and departures to maintain consistent shipment movement
• Address operational challenges, delivery issues, and customer complaints promptly
• Manage hub capacity planning including workforce allocation, vehicle usage, and warehouse space optimization

Compliance and Operational Standards

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain proper security procedures within the hub
• Implement operational processes that support efficient logistics management

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates interested in this Operations Manager should meet the following requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 to 7 years experience in logistics, courier services, warehousing, or distribution operations
• At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position

• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills in high pressure environments
• Good understanding of routing, last mile delivery, and hub operations management
