Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager – Digital Tool Lead at Street Child | Nigeria

Street Child is a UK charity dedicated to providing educational opportunities for vulnerable children worldwide. Established in 2008, we have successfully impacted over 50,000 children across Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nepal, expanding our reach to Nigeria in 2017 to support children affected by conflict in the North East. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager – Digital Tool Lead to strengthen our data-driven approach in Nigeria.

Job Overview

The M&E Manager – Digital Tool Lead will be responsible for overseeing Street Child’s M&E framework in Nigeria, with a specific focus on the design, implementation, and optimization of digital tools for data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role is crucial for enhancing program effectiveness, ensuring accountability, and driving evidence-based decision-making across our projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the M&E strategy and system for Street Child Nigeria, integrating digital solutions.
• Lead the selection, customization, and deployment of digital M&E tools and platforms.
• Train field staff on the effective use of digital data collection tools and data quality assurance.
• Oversee the collection, cleaning, and analysis of program data, generating regular reports and insights.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity, and contribute to the development of robust performance indicators.
• Support program teams in utilizing M&E findings for adaptive management and learning.
• Contribute to proposal development by providing M&E-related technical input and data.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in M&E, with a strong understanding of M&E frameworks and methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing digital M&E tools (e.g., CommCare, KoboToolbox, ODK, or similar).
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, or advanced Excel).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor staff.
• Experience working in a humanitarian or development context, preferably in Nigeria or similar settings.
