SINOMA CARGO INTERNATIONAL NIGERIA LTD., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinoma Cargo established in June 2016 and strategically located in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Finance & Tax Manager. As the first West African branch of Sinoma Cargo, we are committed to our global expansion strategy, providing comprehensive logistics solutions including customs clearance, overseas warehousing, and distribution. Our robust infrastructure, featuring 40 normal trailers and 10 tow-beds, enables efficient delivery of general and heavy lift cargo.

Job Overview

The Finance & Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and tax compliance for Sinoma Cargo International Nigeria Ltd. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of Nigerian financial regulations and accounting principles to ensure the company’s financial health and legal adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Oversee accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Nigerian tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax, VAT, and withholding tax.
  • Manage tax filings, audits, and liaise with tax authorities.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage banking relationships and cash flow effectively.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CPA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance and tax management, preferably within the logistics or transportation industry in Nigeria.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax legislation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
