Job Overview

The Home Economics Teacher will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging curriculum in Home Economics, equipping students with practical knowledge and skills relevant to domestic science, nutrition, textiles, and personal well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
  • Instruct students in areas such as food preparation and nutrition, garment construction, and personal grooming.
  • Foster a positive and interactive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress through various methods, including practical demonstrations, written assignments, and projects.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom or laboratory environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community.

    • Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech), or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Home Economics, Food Science, Hotel Management and Catering, or a closely related equivalent.
  • Demonstrated skills in Beauty and Cosmetology, and Clothing and Textiles.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in a similar capacity.
  • Additional experience in any related Home Economics field is considered an advantage.
