We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Earth Moving Machine (HEMM) Engineer to join our esteemed team in Nigeria, contributing to our ongoing diversification and operational success.
Job Overview
The HEMM Engineer will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and technical oversight of all heavy earth-moving machinery used in SEEPCO’s exploration and production activities in Nigeria. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of civil and logistical operations essential to our upstream projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and performance of HEMMs, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and compactors.
- Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and longevity.
- Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies during HEMM operations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers for timely procurement.
- Provide technical guidance and training to HEMM operators and maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repair history.
- Collaborate with project management teams to plan and execute civil works and site preparation activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a HEMM Engineer, preferably in the oil and gas or construction industry.
- Proven expertise in the maintenance and repair of a wide range of heavy earth-moving equipment.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
