Tetra Maritime, a preeminent Nigerian ship owner and operator, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head, Local Content (WAF) to join our distinguished team in Nigeria. Job Overview

The Head, Local Content (WAF) will be instrumental in driving and overseeing all aspects of local content strategy and execution for Tetra Maritime’s operations within Nigeria and potentially other West African regions. This senior position requires a deep understanding of Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, relevant maritime regulations, and strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive local content strategies aligned with Tetra Maritime’s business objectives and NOGICD Act requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all local content regulations and reporting obligations.
  • Identify and foster relationships with local suppliers, service providers, and indigenous businesses.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of training and capacity-building programs for Nigerian personnel.
  • Monitor and report on local content performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and community stakeholders.
  • Advise senior management on local content best practices and emerging trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Business Administration, Engineering).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in local content management, preferably within the oil and gas or maritime sectors in Nigeria.
  • In-depth knowledge of the NOGICD Act and other pertinent local content legislation.
  • Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Familiarity with maritime operations and the oil and gas supply chain is highly desirable.
