Job Overview

The Resident Control Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of UBA’s operations by providing robust internal control oversight at designated branches. This position is integral to maintaining compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal policies, thereby safeguarding the bank’s assets and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting regular inspections and audits of branch operations to identify control weaknesses and non-compliance.
• Ensuring adherence to all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Investigating discrepancies and unauthorized transactions, and recommending corrective actions.
• Monitoring operational risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Providing feedback and guidance to branch staff on control best practices.
• Preparing detailed reports on control assessments and findings for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in internal audit, compliance, risk management, or a similar control function within the banking sector.
• In-depth understanding of banking operations and relevant regulatory requirements in Nigeria.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
