Job Overview

The Branch Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations at a designated SIMS Nigeria Limited branch. This role requires a proactive approach to financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. The ideal candidate will be a key player in maintaining the financial health of their assigned branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and company policies.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Provide financial insights to branch management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is an advantage.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a retail or distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
