We’re looking for a Core R&D Software Engineer with a strong foundation in Go and/or Rust, solid web fundamentals, and a genuine interest in blockchain infrastructure and AI-assisted development.

In this role, you’ll help design, build, and optimize the internal and external services that power our infrastructure stack, including systems that integrate with Ethereum execution clients (such as Erigon) and other Web3 tooling.

You’ll work closely with the Head of R&D and senior engineers, gradually taking ownership of key projects, contributing to architectural decisions, and driving features from concept to production.

This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who is strong in fundamentals, curious about blockchain, and thoughtful about using AI as a productivity multiplier.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Go and/or Rust
  • Interface with blockchain infrastructure and internal platforms
  • Contribute to client software (cdk-erigon) and its ecosystem integrations
  • Research performance, interoperability, and reliability improvements
  • Collaborate with the Core R&D team on integrations, monitoring, and optimizations
  • Participate in technical design and architecture discussions
  • Use AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor) to:
    • accelerate prototyping
    • improve code quality and tests
    • draft and refine documentation
  • Own features end-to-end: design → implementation → deployment → iteration
  • Contribute to a strong engineering culture through reviews, docs, and knowledge-sharing

Must-Have Skills

  • 3–5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent impact)
  • Strong experience building production services in Go and/or Rust
  • Solid understanding of Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven track record owning and shipping features to production
  • Practical experience using LLMs and AI coding assistants, including:
    • writing effective prompts
    • validating and refining outputs
    • treating AI as a tool — not a substitute for real understanding

Nice to Have

  • Experience with blockchain or Web3 infrastructure (nodes, rollups, etc.)
  • Familiarity with execution clients like Erigon, Geth, Reth, or Besu
  • Background in distributed systems or high-performance backends
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Prior work on Core R&D, platform, or infrastructure teams
  • Open-source contributions (especially in Go, Rust, or blockchain tooling)
  • Experience working in remote-first teams

Who You Are

  • Hands-on, curious, and motivated to ship and iterate
  • Interested in blockchain, even if you’re not yet a protocol expert
  • Treat AI tools as collaborators — while owning the code yourself
  • Comfortable in a small, senior-heavy team with high responsibility
  • Strong communicator, especially in async remote environments

What We Offer

  • Fully remote role with flexible working hours
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge Web3 infrastructure
  • Close collaboration with senior engineers and protocol specialists
  • A culture of experimentation, learning, and responsible AI use
  • Competitive compensation aligned with mid-senior responsibility levels
