The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) is accepting applications for its fully funded 2026 Summer Student Fellowship, designed for undergraduate students entering the final summer before graduation. This highly competitive research-focused program prepares emerging scientists and engineers for advanced study and careers in ocean sciences and related fields.

Program Summary
Type- Fellowship / Internship
Location- Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA
Duration- 10–12 Weeks
Funding- Fully funded
Slots Available- 25–30 fellows
Eligibility- Open to candidates from all countries
Benefits- Weekly stipend, round-trip airfare, free housing, visa support

Eligibility Criteria
• Open to international undergraduate students
• Applicants must have completed their junior year before the program starts
• Graduating students before the fellowship period are not eligible
• Students in:
o 3-year degree programs must be in their 2nd year
o 5-year combined Bachelor’s/Master’s programs must be in their 3rd year
• Preference is given to students in fields such as:
Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics, Meteorology, Physics, Oceanography, Marine Policy, and other science or engineering disciplines
