Job Description
The Africa CDC Biomanufacturing Fellowship Programme 2026 is a prestigious, fully funded initiative aimed at equipping African biomanufacturing professionals with advanced technical, leadership, and management skills. This programme supports the African Union’s ambitious goal to locally manufacture 60% of the continent’s vaccines by 2040, by developing highly skilled professionals in the biomanufacturing sector.
This fellowship provides participants with two years of theoretical and hands-on experience in vaccine R&D and biomanufacturing, with specialization options tailored to their career goals. It is ideal for African professionals seeking career advancement and technical excellence in biomanufacturing.
Programme Overview
The Africa CDC Biomanufacturing Fellowship Programme is designed to:
- Strengthen the skills of employees from active biomanufacturing companies across Africa.
- Provide advanced competencies in vaccine R&D, manufacturing, leadership, mentorship, management, enterprise resource planning, and entrepreneurship.
- Offer hands-on exposure to the biomanufacturing and R&D industry.
- Develop a specialized skill set in the participant’s chosen area of focus.
Fellowship Duration: July 2026 – June 2028
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an employee of an active biomanufacturing company in an African Union (AU) Member State.
- Hold a Master’s degree in the following or related fields OR a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience:
- Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Chemistry & Biochemistry
- Biochemical Engineering
- Possess a valid passport.
- Be available to participate in the fellowship programme in the designated host countries.
- Citizens of AU Member States only.

Benefits of the Fellowship

Selection Process
- Africa CDC PHAHM will establish a review committee to assess applications.
