Data and IT Officer at Be the Help Foundation | Nigeria

Be The Help Foundation (BHF) is seeking a dedicated Data and IT Officer to support our impactful agroforestry project in Kwali, Abuja, Nigeria. Since 2019, BHF has been establishing a hands-on training center to demonstrate the economic and environmental sustainability of agroforestry practices. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and data integrity of our initiatives, which are implemented in collaboration with SCL Nigeria and five neighboring villages.

Job Overview

The Data and IT Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Foundation’s IT infrastructure and data systems. This includes ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security to support project reporting, decision-making, and overall organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data collection, storage, and management protocols.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of project-related data.
• Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, and network issues.
• Maintain and update the Foundation’s IT equipment and systems.
• Generate reports and data visualizations for project monitoring and evaluation.
• Train staff and community members on data management best practices and IT tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related problems promptly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data management and IT support.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and database management systems.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and cybersecurity principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
