Job Overview

The Sexual Harassment Lead will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive strategies and policies to prevent, address, and respond to sexual harassment within the British Council. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine policies and procedures related to sexual harassment prevention and response.
  • Lead on training initiatives to raise awareness and educate staff on identifying and preventing sexual harassment.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for reporting and investigating allegations of sexual harassment.
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals who have experienced or witnessed sexual harassment.
  • Liaise with HR, legal, and other relevant departments to ensure effective case management and resolution.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of prevention strategies and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and legislative changes in relation to safeguarding and harassment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role focusing on safeguarding, anti-harassment, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and best practices in addressing workplace misconduct.
  • Excellent investigative and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and empathy.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a complex organisational structure.
