Job Overview

INTERSOS seeks a dedicated and experienced Safety and Security Officer to join our team in Italy. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of our personnel, assets, and operations within Italy and in support of our international mandates. The successful candidate will contribute to developing and implementing robust security protocols and risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety and security policies and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and threat analyses for all INTERSOS operations and personnel.
• Provide security briefings and training to staff.
• Manage security incidents, including investigation and reporting.
• Liaise with local authorities and other humanitarian actors on security matters.
• Ensure compliance with INTERSOS security standards and best practices.
• Support the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a safety and security role, preferably within the humanitarian sector.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and security protocols.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in English; Italian language skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
