Job Overview
The Drilling Fluid Equipment Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and operational support of all drilling fluid equipment used in exploration and production activities. This position demands a proactive approach to troubleshooting and a commitment to safety and operational excellence in the dynamic Nigerian energy landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair drilling fluid equipment, including pumps, shakers, degassers, centrifuges, and tanks.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implementing effective repair solutions.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and operating within specified parameters.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
- Operate and test equipment to verify functionality and performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Drilling Fluid Equipment Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of drilling fluid systems and associated equipment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in an oil and gas environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
