Moniepoint Incorporated is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst with a specialization in fraud detection to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the opportunity to contribute to our robust fraud prevention strategies from anywhere. You will play a critical role in analyzing vast datasets, identifying patterns, and developing actionable insights to safeguard our platform and customers.

Job Overview

The Data Analyst – Fraud will be instrumental in the proactive identification, investigation, and mitigation of fraudulent activities across Moniepoint’s services. This role requires a strong analytical mind, proficiency in data manipulation and visualization tools, and a deep understanding of fraud typologies within the fintech or payment processing industry. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our fraud detection capabilities and minimize financial losses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to detect anomalies and suspicious patterns indicative of fraudulent behavior.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor fraud trends and key performance indicators.
  • Investigate potential fraud cases, gather evidence, and provide clear, concise recommendations for action.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement new fraud detection rules and models.
  • Stay abreast of emerging fraud threats and evolving industry best practices.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand the root causes of fraud.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst with a focus on fraud detection (4+ years, or equivalent demonstrable accomplishments).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages like Python is a plus.
