Job Overview

The Laboratory Technologist Consultant will provide expert technical support and guidance to IOM’s health initiatives in Nigeria, focusing on laboratory diagnostics and quality assurance. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing services that underpin IOM’s health and migration-related programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on laboratory protocols, procedures, and best practices.
  • Oversee and conduct quality control and quality assurance activities for laboratory testing.
  • Train and mentor local laboratory staff on advanced techniques and equipment use.
  • Assist in the procurement and maintenance of laboratory equipment and consumables.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory-based health assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international laboratory standards.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
  • Professional certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
