Job Overview

The Professor will play a crucial role in developing and delivering cutting-edge curriculum, conducting impactful research, and contributing to the academic leadership of their respective departments within Iconic Open University’s Open and Distance Learning framework. This position demands a commitment to innovative pedagogical approaches suitable for remote learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging course content for undergraduate and postgraduate ODL programs.
• Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable academic journals.
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Engage in curriculum development and program review processes.
• Contribute to academic governance and the advancement of the university’s mission.
• Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students in a remote setting.

Requirements

• A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
• A distinguished record of teaching and research, evidenced by publications and scholarly achievements.
• Demonstrated experience or a strong understanding of Open and Distance Learning methodologies.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and digital literacy skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic environment.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant academic experience, with a significant portion at senior lecturer level or above.
