At Hopper, our Security team is intentionally lean yet profoundly impactful, and this Senior Security Engineer role sits at the very heart of our operations. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our remote team, contributing directly to the security posture of our innovative travel platform.

Job Overview

As a Senior Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions. You will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape security strategy and directly influence our protective measures within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development and implementation of security frameworks and best practices.
  • Lead threat modeling and risk assessment initiatives.
  • Design and implement security controls for cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and maintain security automation tools and processes.
  • Respond to and investigate security incidents.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle.
  • Mentor junior security engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Security Engineer or similar role.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Proficiency in security scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, cryptography, and authentication protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
