Job Overview

The Deputy Safety Manager will play a crucial role in assisting the Safety Manager in developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety policies and procedures across the terminal. This position is instrumental in ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel and visitors, minimizing operational risks, and promoting a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety management systems.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors.
  • Monitor compliance with local and international safety regulations.
  • Maintain safety records and prepare relevant reports.
  • Promote safety awareness and best practices throughout the terminal.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar safety role within a port, industrial, or logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
