Job Overview

As our Bookkeeper, you will be instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will handle the day-to-day financial transactions of the company, ensuring that all entries are processed efficiently and in accordance with established accounting principles. This role requires a meticulous approach and a strong understanding of fundamental bookkeeping practices. You will play a crucial part in supporting our financial team and contributing to sound financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

* Accurately record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, in the company’s accounting system.
* Perform bank reconciliations to ensure all bank transactions are accounted for and match the company’s records.
* Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents for timely payment or collection.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets and income statements, under the guidance of the finance manager.
* Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, both digital and physical, for audit and reference purposes.
* Support the finance team with various accounting tasks, including data entry, filing, and report generation.
* Monitor and reconcile petty cash and ensure proper documentation for all petty cash transactions.
* Assist in the preparation of tax documents and compliance reports as required.

Requirements

* Possession of an OND, HND, or BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
* A minimum of 0 to 2 years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting experience; National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) service year will be considered.
* Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for financial record-keeping and analysis.
* Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and record maintenance.
* Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
