Job Overview
The Telecom Engineer will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining Five9's robust telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of VoIP, SIP, and other relevant protocols, ensuring the reliable and scalable delivery of our cloud contact center solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement in our network performance.Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage VoIP and SIP-based communication systems.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve telecommunications issues.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Ensure the security and integrity of our telecommunications network.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for telecom systems and processes.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical telecom services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as a Telecom Engineer or in a similar network engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of SIP, RTP, codecs, and related VoIP protocols.
- Experience with cloud-based telecommunications platforms and services.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
