Job Overview
The Technical Facility Manager (Electrical) will be responsible for overseeing and managing all electrical systems and infrastructure within our diverse portfolio of facilities across Africa. This remote role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, maintenance, and compliance, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical assets.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive electrical maintenance strategies.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance for all electrical equipment and systems.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and international standards.
- Manage electrical projects, including upgrades, installations, and retrofits.
- Conduct regular site inspections and assessments of electrical infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues remotely.
- Manage relationships with external electrical contractors and service providers.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inventory.
- Provide technical guidance and support to on-site facility teams.
- Monitor energy consumption and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in technical facility management with a focus on electrical systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, generators, UPS, and building management systems.
- Familiarity with international safety standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, NEC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective remote collaboration.
- Proficiency in using facility management software and digital tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working across multiple geographical locations is a plus.
