Job Overview
Visa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Government Affairs for West Africa, to be based remotely. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing Visa's government affairs strategy across key markets in the region, fostering strong relationships with governmental bodies and regulatory authorities, and advocating for policies that support the growth of digital payments and Visa’s business objectives.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive government affairs strategies for West Africa.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze the regulatory and political landscape in target markets.
- Advocate for favorable policies and regulations that promote digital payments innovation and financial inclusion.
- Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities arising from government policies.
- Represent Visa in relevant industry forums and government consultations.
- Provide insights and counsel to internal teams on policy developments and their impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Economics, International Relations, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory affairs, with a strong focus on the West African region.
- Proven track record of successfully engaging with government officials and regulatory bodies.
- Deep understanding of the financial services and payments industry in West Africa.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
