Job Overview
The Senior Auditor will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits, investigations, and compliance checks across our field operations in Nigeria. This position requires a proactive and analytical individual with a strong understanding of compliance frameworks and investigative methodologies within a nonprofit or development sector context.Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute field audits, including financial, programmatic, and operational compliance reviews.
- Conduct investigations into allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, or non-compliance.
- Develop and implement audit methodologies and tools tailored to the program's context.
- Assess internal controls and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
- Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Liaise with program staff, local partners, and relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in auditing, investigations, or compliance.
- Proven experience in fieldwork within developing country contexts, preferably in Nigeria.
- Strong knowledge of internal control systems and risk management principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
