Job Overview
Neohomes Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounts Officer to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices within the Nigerian business context, with a proven ability to manage financial records and support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities
- * Manage and oversee the entire accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation of invoices, payments, and receipts. * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with IFRS and local accounting standards. * Maintain the general ledger and ensure its accuracy through regular reconciliations and journal entries. * Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. * Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, providing insights to management for financial planning and control. * Liaise with external auditors during statutory audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations to ensure a smooth audit process. * Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations, including VAT, CIT, and PAYE, and facilitate timely tax filings and payments. * Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timely disbursement of salaries and related deductions. * Support the Head of Finance in financial analysis, reporting, and other ad-hoc financial projects as required.
Requirements
- * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a reputable institution. * Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA) is highly preferred. * Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role. * In-depth knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations. * Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
