Job Overview
The Senior Account Officer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role demands a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of financial management principles within a corporate environment, contributing directly to the financial health and strategic growth of Quality Foods Africa.Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
- Assist in budget preparation and monitor financial performance against budgets.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced corporate setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
