Job Overview

- * Provide strategic leadership and direction to the UN Country Team, ensuring that the UN's programs and activities are aligned with national priorities and the SDGs * Foster partnerships with key stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and private sector entities, to promote the UN's values and principles * Coordinate the development and implementation of the UN's development programs and initiatives, ensuring that they are effective, efficient, and responsive to national needs * Promote the UN's reform agenda, including efforts to enhance the organization's effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability * Provide guidance and oversight to UN agencies, ensuring that their programs and activities are aligned with national priorities and the SDGs * Facilitate the sharing of knowledge and best practices among UN agencies and with national stakeholders, to enhance the impact and effectiveness of UN programs * Represent the UN in national and international fora, promoting the organization's values and principles and advancing its development agenda
Requirements
- * Advanced university degree (Master's or Doctorate) in a relevant field, such as international relations, development studies, or a related field * A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in international development, diplomacy, or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and management * Excellent knowledge of the UN's development agenda, including the SDGs and the UN's reform efforts * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with diverse stakeholders * Fluency in English, with knowledge of other UN languages an asset * Experience working in a multilateral or international organization, with knowledge of the UN's rules and procedures
