Job Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all aspects of project costs, from pre-contract estimating through final account settlement. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and comprehensive knowledge of construction practices and contractual obligations.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate bill of quantities and cost estimates for projects
- Monitor project expenditures and manage budgets throughout construction phases
- Process and certify contractor claims and interim valuations
- Conduct material and labour rate analysis
- Prepare detailed final accounts and cost reconciliation reports
- Advise on contractual variations and change orders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Professional certification (QS or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in construction projects
- Strong proficiency in cost estimation software and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
