Job Overview
The Optometrist/Optician will play a vital role in our clinic, responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services to patients, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment of various eye conditions. - * Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity tests, retinoscopy, and ophthalmoscopy, to diagnose and manage various eye conditions * Prescribe and dispense corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other vision correction devices as needed * Provide patient education and counseling on eye health, vision care, and proper use of corrective devices * Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with complex eye conditions * Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical histories, examination results, and treatment plans * Stay current with industry developments and advancements in optometry and opticianry, attending conferences and workshops as needed * Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of patient care and clinic operations * Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and loyalty, ensuring a positive experience for all patients
Requirements
- * Bachelor's degree in Optometry or a related field, with a valid license to practice optometry in Nigeria * At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a private eye clinic or hospital * Strong knowledge of optometric principles, practices, and procedures, including refractive surgery and low vision rehabilitation * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently to meet patient needs * Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and other relevant software applications * Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying current with industry advancements and best practices
