Job Overview
The National Migration Health Physician will provide comprehensive medical assessments, consultations, and health advice to migrants, refugees, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) supported by IOM Nigeria. This position requires a deep understanding of public health principles as they apply to mobile populations.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical examinations and health screenings for various migrant groups.
- Provide primary healthcare services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of common illnesses.
- Offer health education and counselling on infectious diseases, reproductive health, and mental well-being.
- Facilitate referrals to specialized medical care and ensure continuity of treatment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of health-related projects and initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in Nigeria.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in clinical medicine and public health.
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including migrants and IDPs, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of communicable diseases and migration health challenges.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an asset.
