Job Overview
The Logistics and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all logistics and supply chain operations within Nigeria. This includes procurement, warehousing, transportation, and inventory management, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services to support our humanitarian interventions.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust logistics and supply chain strategies aligned with Action Against Hunger’s operational plans.
- Manage the procurement process, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
- Oversee warehousing operations, including stock management, inventory control, and adherence to safety standards.
- Coordinate the efficient and secure transportation of goods and personnel across various operational areas.
- Supervise and mentor the logistics team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Monitor and analyze supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of all logistics and supply chain activities.
- Liaise with relevant government bodies and other stakeholders on logistics-related matters.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in logistics and supply chain management, preferably within the humanitarian sector.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement procedures, inventory management, and warehousing best practices.
- Experience in managing transportation networks in complex environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and IT systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local Nigerian languages is an asset.
