Job Overview
The Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a comprehensive life skills curriculum tailored to the needs of CENSCOPE's beneficiaries. This role requires a blend of pedagogical expertise, in-depth understanding of trauma-informed approaches, and strong facilitation skills to effectively engage diverse groups.Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a modular life skills curriculum covering essential areas such as communication, problem-solving, financial literacy, emotional regulation, and conflict resolution.
- Create engaging and culturally relevant training materials, including manuals, presentations, and interactive exercises.
- Facilitate training sessions for beneficiaries, adapting methodologies to suit different learning styles and group dynamics.
- Conduct needs assessments to ensure curriculum relevance and impact.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and facilitation, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Mentor and train CENSCOPE staff in curriculum delivery.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, or a related field. A Master's degree is an asset.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, particularly in the area of life skills or psychosocial support.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating training sessions for diverse populations, ideally in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and its application in program design.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local Nigerian languages is an advantage.
